FREE Registration and Certification of your Animal!
REGARDING “REGISTERING” AND “CERTIFYING” YOUR
ANIMAL:
We
realize at D.I.A.L. S.T.A.R.T., Inc. that you may want to or feel
required to have a ”piece of paper” to
show someone who questions your right to have a service animal. Even
though the law clearly states that disabled people do not have to show
any paper work regarding their disability or to prove that their animal
is a service animal, we notice there are groups on the Internet who
charge disabled people money to “register” or “certify” them
and their animal.
This saddens us, as we have never charged for this FREE service.
As part of our
pro bono program, we offer you a FREE “certification.”
We are not here to make money off the people we are pledged to
serve.
There is no such thing as a required legally governed “certifying” or “registering” agency
or document to carry with you.
You are not required to join or become a member of any group
or web site in order to “feel safe” about having your
service animal. Your legal rights are already spelled out under
the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). We suggest you print
out the ADA page and use it as an educational/teaching brochure
to hand out to people who are interested in what service animals
do, and how they differ from “pets.”
For years D.I.A.L.
S.T.A.R.T., Inc. has provided FREE forms for our clients, because
we know these forms can
be acquired FREE from
the town or county agency where your animal is licensed. You
do not need to pay for anything except for the notary’s
seal when they witness your signature.
You can have the paper work you want simply by printing out the
form below, filling it in, and signing it in front of a notary public
for $5.
We also suggest you print out the form, fill it in clearly,
sign it in front of a notary public, place a photo of your
animal with
it (you can laminate it) and carry it with you and your animal.
If you want to be part of the D.I.A.L. S.T.A.R.T. registry
data base, fill out the form and click submit. Your information
will
be saved. Your submission gives us permission to verify that
you have registered your animal with D.I.A.L. S.T.A.R.T.,Inc.,
the original
Service Animal Rights advocacy organization. This is a FREE
